In response to the increase in the number of children and adolescents struggling with weight and fitness related issues, the YMCA is offering Small Steps, Big Changes -- a dynamic interactive program geared toward making changes for a healthier lifestyle. Participants and their parents
will meet with a multidimensional professional team which includes physical trainers, family
counselors, and nutritionists. The program will run for 10–12 weeks at the YMCA.
Each week will include two one-hour sessions of fun and exciting physical fitness activities with trainers for the participants.

Each session will include:

Noncompetitive physical activity

Gradual increase of fitness levels

Individual exercise programs
One session for participants and parents split between family and nutrition counseling |

These sessions will focus on:

Self analysis

Changing lifestyle as a family unit

Strategies for making healthy choices

Nutrition education |
